Kelson Martins Blog

Hello. My name is Kelson Martins. I’m a 27-year old software engineer from Brazil, currently living in Cork, Ireland.
Graduated with a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Griffith College Dublin, I am passionate about software development practices and more than that, passionate about solving technical problems in a simple and effective manner.

Currently, I’m:

  • Software Engineer at IBM
  • Coursera course mentor

At the moment, I am a big adopter of the Elastic Stack, where I have been developing and maintaining an efficient and reliable log management infrastructure. I am achieving this by currently deploying and maintaining a series of multi-node Elasticsearch Clusters.
Technologies that I have been working with professionally include Java, Python, Git, SQL Server, Ansible, Elastic Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Graphite & Grafana, as well as HTML and CSS, JavaScript, NodeJS, and AngularJS.
In the past, I have worked for companies in different areas such as transport, food, education, manufacturing, and government focusing mainly on ERP development using a proprietary language derived from Clipper called AdvPL.

When Out of Office

In my spare time, you may find me running, traveling, watching a football match or drinking a pint of Guinness in an Irish pub.
